TO PRAVEEN, ASHES, CAUSTIC AND DIFFY

I always thought Pink Floyd sounded stupid but now I am hooked BIG TIME. And this is the one song that keeps re-re-re-re-winding on my player. Thought you guys would like these lyrics. Makes me smile every single time I listen to this.
Here it goes

PINK FLOYD-WISH YOU WERE HERE

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war
for a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

I do too respecy the floyd. I am not the biggest fan but man can they write a song. Here is my fav song by them off The Final Cut called...

"Paranoid Eyes"

Button your lip. Don't let the shield slip.
Take a fresh grip on your bullet proof mask.
And if they try to break down your disguise with their questions
You can hide, hide, hide,
"I'll tell you what, I'll give you three blacks, and play you for five
..."
"Ta! You was unlucky there son"
"Time gentleman!"
Behind paranoid eyes.

You put on our brave face and slip over the road for a jar.
Fixing your grin as you casually lean on the bar,
Laughing too loud at the rest of the world
With the boys in the crowd
You hide, hide, hide,
Behind petrified eyes.

You believed in their stories of fame, fortune and glory.
Now you're lost in a haze of alcohol soft middle age
The pie in the sky turned out to be miles too high.
And you hide, hide, hide,
Behind brown and mild eyes.

"Oi!"

Just remember guys and gals, Pink Floyd effectively ceased to exist when Roger Waters left the band. After that they were stuck in a time warp just like any other tribute band.
Check out the albums Roger Waters recorded after the split. Fantastic.
