In The Now

So is this religion?
No.
A new attempt at surreal posts from different worlds and odd, out-of-world-ideas that somehow make people think of nasty coitus?
No.
Then what is it?
About being in the now, walking around with no scars- physical or mental-and knowing there is something of a light of joy in satiated numbness and to be a mere spectator.

Curious?
Please be.

After ages of walking in the darkness, you finally reached the light of dharma…
And I cried. Tears deluging years of hatred, craving and depreciated life and pulling me into its arms. Who knew I had it in me? That someday Karma would turn around and love me for my efforts of following, or attempting? The ink stains of misery evanescence along with over-exaggerated and shallow happiness and I am left with a feeling.
To rush into arms of the joyous and run out screaming for those looking for light.

This is just an attempt to help spread knowledge of Vipassana. So fragile, so tender, it was lost in meaningless rituals and condemnation of the pragmatic and confused. Something the Buddha spread and something three words called ‘ism’ almost crushed to a religion.

It’s for you, you and you. The one who is one step away from living inside a plastic joy-toy, the one who has been roaming streets with hallucinations and fears of not reaching middle spread and the one whose screams but no one hears. And all those in search of a shore.

Believe me, its not easy-the pain, the agony; everything you are is on the surface and 10 days in complete silence-not just speech but actions-living in rooms that crowd in like your fears. Oh but the joy, the joy of independence, of looking at the night and then the day and smiling with true detachment and the growing knowledge of impermanence.

To believe something by intellect is easy, but to feel it, that is Vipassana.

I hope each one of you benefits from this. 10 days of complete excommunication from your respective lives-abnormal or worldly-and determination is all that is asked. Each one who does read this post must visit this site.

Vipassana meditation

dont no about dis
but we do need to spend time wid ourselves and take stock of our lives

where we going?
is it worth going there?

among us christians we call it retreat

it usually lasts 3 days
i was supposed to go to POTA in kerala, a 7 day affair

but had to cancel bcoz of work commitments

guys who been there came back changed and are now leading healthy lives

their sex life improved vastly too

its a fact that 80% of all ailments can be tracked to a disturbed mind: worries, anxieties and shit like dat

and lacking a purpose in life

Recently, there was an article in Time, about Buddhism etc. West loves it. It was about meditation, yoga etc. What was astonishing about the article that there was absolutely NO mention of the source of it all - Hinduism. Whatever the West favors, people, particularly in USA/India, go with it.

Now, this site - dhamma.org - itself mentions the technique was more than 2,500 yrs. old. It doesn't take an Einstein to realize the source has to be Hinduism. I searched for the word "Hinduism" in it. And 0 results.

So, why don't they accept history just the way it is? Reason: Then, obviously, people would say - hey, since source is Hinduism let's just go ahead and read about Hinduism! Then, obviously, you won't get followers.

An analogy of the same is Pakistani Govt. websites about the history of Pakistan. They conveniently leave the Hindu past out.

Ridiculous! Erase and distort the history, teach it to kids and the next generation would be completely lost! And who cares to read in depth?

If you really want to understand the source - read about the same by Vivekananda here in one of those volumes. I can't remember exactly where he talks about meditation etc. But if you want me to help find it, just ask.

Otherwise, be happy with the paraphernalia; happiness and fun is what most of us want anyway.

the americans have taken over ISKCON and OSHO and made these commercially viable projects

but u gotta hand it to the americans
they are great marketeers

they even managed to make billions on a shitty drink called COKE

and the cool kids in India guzzle Coke instead of Nariyal Paani and AMUL Milk

GOD BLESS AMERICA

I have no comment about karma, I cant say I do not have faith in it but.. well, I sometimes lose hope with my life. I may look happy, wealthy, and healthy to many people but to people who really know me deep inside, understand the pain that I have to endure all my life and in my coming future. I wish it to end soon.

As for “Dharma” and “Vipassana”, I have no idea what are they all about.

yes anonymous, if paraphernalia give you happiness, then so be it. but some people just like to read from an original source. you don't have to do that.

i agree with Saby @ great marketeers.

No. It isn't about religion. It is about that which is beyond words. Religion, tries to package that which is beyond words into, well, words. Buddhism, but not necessarily every Buddhist (their Human too) knows that even the sutras and teachings of non-self are only concepts created by words, that are pointing at that which is beyond words.
Vippasanna and some other forms of meditation aid in grasping what is being hinted or pointed at, although poorly, by religion
